Sir John Whittingdale MP recently visited Carr’s Flour Mill in Maldon, where he met members of staff, Managing Director Neil Fyfe and Alistair Gale, Chief Executive of UK Flour Mills.
During the visit, Sir John learned more about the mill’s work and its long history in the town. Carr’s Flour Mill produces flour using wheat sourced from across the local area, with 70% of its wheat coming from within 30 miles of the mill.
The Maldon mill supplies flour to artisan bakers throughout the south of England, particularly in London.
Speaking about the visit, Sir John said: “I was delighted to visit Carr’s Flour Mill in Maldon, and also meet some of those involved. The Maldon Mill has a long history in the town, producing top-quality flour. It supplies the finest flour to artisan bakers in the south of England.”
