Sir John met with members of the National Farmers’ Union from Maldon and Southminster to discuss the issues affecting local farmers most, including the Family Farm Tax, food security, firearms licensing and rural crime.
During the meeting, Sir John listened to the concerns raised by farmers and discussed the challenges facing the agricultural sector.
While in Westminster, Sir John has been raising these issues in Parliament and with ministerial colleagues. He will continue to press the Government to provide clarity and practical support for British farmers and rural communities.
