Sir John has welcomed the news that Essex County Council has received a ‘green’ rating for its road maintenance and repair work, describing it as a positive sign that investment and attention are being directed toward the condition of local roads.
He also noted the increased funding for the highways budget, which he said should help ensure that roads across Maldon are kept safe and properly maintained for residents, commuters and businesses.
However, Sir John acknowledged that many defects still need to be addressed and that poor road conditions continue to cause frustration and difficulty for road users in parts of the district. He said he would continue to raise residents’ concerns with the Council and press for improvements where problems persist.
