The Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Fund, for households that have not received the automatic discount, is now live.
There are a large number of constituents in Maldon and the surrounding towns and villages who live in park homes and do not have residential electricity supplies, and have not qualified for the automatic monthly payments from the Energy Price Guarantee Scheme.
Over the past months, Sir John Whittingdale has expressed his concerns at the delays there have been in establishing this support with Ministers, and is reassured that the alternative funding route is now up and running, and that the same level of financial support is now available to these households.
Sir John encourages his constituents who are eligible to apply as soon as possible for the one-off payment. which can be done securely on the gov.uk website. A telephone helpline is also available from today for people without access to the internet to apply for the payment.
