Visit to St Luke’s Primary School

John Whittingdale MP was delighted to visit the new St Luke’s Primary School in Runwell, which opened in September.

St Luke’s Primary School was commissioned in response to the growth in demand for school places arising from the St Luke’s Park housing development. Funded primarily by £5M of developer contributions, the project also includes nursery provision on site, providing access to funded early years and childcare provision for local parents.

Local pupils have already taken up school places for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, and the school will continue to expand with the entry of each new year group . The new nursery will create 56 new early years and childcare places and is due to open during the Autumn term offering places all year round for babies and up to 4 years old. St Luke’s Primary School is part of the Eveleigh Link Academy Trust which already has 6 Primary Schools in Essex as members.

John Whittingdale is pictured with County Councillor Tony Ball, Cabinet Member for Education Excellence and Skills, Dr Nick  Rudman, Executive Headteacher, and Joseph Figg, Chief Executive of the Eveleigh Link Academy Trust, as well as staff members and representatives of Morgan Sindall Construction who built the school.
