John Whittingdale recently visited St Mary and St Edward’s Church in West Hanningfield, for a celebration of the completed restoration of the bell tower.
The project has taken 8 years, and has seen restoration of the tower, bell frame and the 4 Miles Graye III 1676 bells. It was funded by local fund-raising, and support from the Government Listed Places of Worship Scheme.
John met the Project Leader, David Gibson, Church Warden, Ann Usher, and Mary Armson who now runs the team of bell ringers in the Church (pictured).
