The clinical strategy will make greater use of neighbourhood and community care in line with our 10-year plan and focus on maternity and planned care treatment. This is backed by \u00a380 million for Southend hospital\u2019s long-standing structural estate problems and support for a neighbourhood health centre in Maldon.\u201d<\/p><p>Sir John looks forward to the Government\u2019s announcement of further details soon, and he will continue to press for the new facility to provide a full range of health services including and beyond those currently available at St Peter\u2019s. He is delighted that the long-promised and desperately needed new community hospital facility has now received Government support.<\/p><p>Thanks go to the Essex ICB and the Save Maldon Medical Services Group for all they have done to help persuade the government of Maldon&#8217;s case.
