It will offer residents access to essential services such as cash withdrawals, deposits and everyday banking support at a time when many high street branches have closed.

Sir John said the announcement represents positive progress for the town, particularly for residents and businesses who rely on in-person banking services. He noted that access to cash remains vital for many people, including older residents, small businesses and those who prefer face-to-face support.

However, he emphasised that the temporary hub should be a stepping stone rather than a long-term solution. Sir John said he will continue to press for a permanent banking hub in a central High Street location, ensuring it is as accessible as possible for Maldon residents and businesses.

He added that maintaining reliable access to banking services is essential for supporting the local economy and helping communities adapt as the banking landscape continues to change.

Sir John welcomes plans for a temporary banking hub in Maldon, improving access to cash and basic services, while continuing to press for a permanent, centrally located High Street facility.

[11

post-5548","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
