It is the case that some people are exploiting the status of self-employed in order to reduce their tax liability and it is right that this be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>However, those who are genuinely self-employed deserve encouragement and their tax liability should recognise that they are not eligible for a number of benefits such as sick pay.&nbsp;&nbsp;I welcome the fact that the Government is keeping to its manifesto promises while considering further how to achieve necessary structural reform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A&nbsp;number of&nbsp;constituents have contacted me about proposed changes to National Insurance and Director\u2019s dividends.
