Does she agree that the agreement to strengthen the defence and security dialogue with&nbsp;South Korea&nbsp;is very welcome, as is the condemnation of the support from the&nbsp;Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea\u2014both with weapons and, now, with troops\u2014for Russia in its illegal invasion of Ukraine? Does she also agree that now is the time when South Korea should step up its support for Ukraine, and drop its previous reluctance to supply it with weapons?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Anneliese Dodds\u00a0Minister of State (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office), Minister of State (Development)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am very grateful for that important question, and I am pleased to report that relations between the UK and the Republic of Korea are at their closest ever at the moment. The&nbsp;Downing Street&nbsp;accord between the UK and the Republic of Korea elevates our relationship to a global strategic partnership, placing the UK as second only to the&nbsp;US&nbsp;in terms of the strength of our bilateral partnership. The right hon. Gentleman is right to focus on the need to condemn the&nbsp;DPRK\u2019s engagement in Ukraine, and indeed the&nbsp;UK Government&nbsp;have taken the same approach.
