{"id":3267,"date":"2024-02-12T17:29:58","date_gmt":"2024-02-12T17:29:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.johnwhittingdale.org.uk\/?p=3267"},"modified":"2024-02-12T17:29:59","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T17:29:59","slug":"sir-john-whittingdale-obe-mp-for-maldon-attends-public-meeting-to-discuss-nhs-mid-and-south-essexs-plans-to-close-st-peters-hospital-in-maldon-and-relocate-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.johnwhittingdale.org.uk\/?p=3267","title":{"rendered":"Sir John Whittingdale OBE, MP for Maldon, attends public meeting to discuss NHS Mid and South Essex\u2019s plans to close St Peter\u2019s hospital in Maldon and relocate services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sir John Whittingdale OBE, MP for Maldon,&nbsp;arranged a&nbsp;public meeting, in conjunction with the Mayor of Maldon,&nbsp;at the Plume Academy, to discuss the Trust\u2019s recent proposals to close St Peter\u2019s Hospital in Maldon,&nbsp;and&nbsp;their plans to&nbsp;relocate services from Maldon to Brentwood and Braintree.&nbsp;The meeting was held in the largest venue in Maldon yet still could not hold the vast number of people who came to take part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting followed&nbsp;NHS Mid and South Essex\u2019s recently announced proposals to close health services at St Peter\u2019s Hospital and relocate services elsewhere. The proposals initially suggest the&nbsp;moving of Intermediate Care and Stroke Rehabilitation beds to Brentwood Community Hospital and Rochford Community Hospital and freestanding midwife-led birthing services such as Maternity beds to WJC Hospital in Braintree.
