Sir John Whittingdale met with Mark Heasman, Group Chief Executive of Provide, and Stephanie Dawe CEO of Provide Health, at St Peter’s Hospital Maldon on the 2nd December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provide<\/a> is a Community Interest Company which was created 10 years ago out of the NHS. It delivers a wide range of services at St Peter’s Hospital including Physiotherapy, Podiatry and a number of Children’s Services. It also administers the District Nursing Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In particular, they discussed the waiting list across Mid Essex for children’s assessments, particularly for autism, and the measures being taken to reduce this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future of St Peter’s Hospital was also discussed together with possible uses once the new Maldon Health Hub has been built. St Peter’s is a much-loved facility in Maldon, but it is no longer fit for purpose and requires substantial investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John welcomes Provide’s commitment to continue to deliver services either from St Peter’s or from a new Health Hub in the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
