Friend the Member for Reading East (Mr Wilson) and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State. The revelations of recent weeks raise serious questions, not just about the culture that existed in the BBC some years ago\u2014and in other organisations\u2014but about the way in which the BBC has handled the matter, and in particular the very damaging suggestion that the \u201cNewsnight\u201d investigation was suppressed. The director-general of the BBC has offered to appear before the Culture, Media and Sport Committee next week, and I am sure that my colleagues will wish to take up that offer.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"anchor\" name=\"st_o149\"><\/a><a class=\"anchor\" name=\"1210154000236\"><\/a><a class=\"anchor\" name=\"121015-0001.htm_spnew132\"><\/a><a class=\"anchor\" name=\"1210154000711\"><\/a><strong>Maria Miller:<\/strong> I thank my hon.
